Years and years ago, I saw two 350 engine ones cruising the main drag of Du Quion, IL.

Aren't they now selling 502's?

That boss is much refined from the early ones. Aluminum LS3, two speed transmission, etc... and a much cleaner look. It still seems just a novelty toy to me.
Automotive Machining, cylinder head rebuilding, engine building. Can't seem to quit #-o

Back in the late '60's, a Buddy had either a 900 or the 1000 Kaw as well as an, "Easy Rider", Hog he had made.

Anyway, a bunch of the gang were out in the country by a 300 acre lake having a good time. I had a couple a beers was all. Now, mind you this was down a 2.5 to 3 mile gravel road before you got to Hwy 63 north of Moberly, MO.

I felt froggy and asked him if I could take it to the Hwy? He looked at me and said, "You sure"?

I told him I would be careful so he started it and said, "Be careful!!"..

I didn't get 50 feet before I chickened out and rolled it back around to him.

He said, Thanks, I didn't want you hurt/killed!

And he rode the big SOB like I would bare-back ride a horse!!

No Kawasaki 900’s in the 60’s, the Z1/KZ900 came out in 1973, and the KZ1000 in 1976.

Maybe a two stroke? The quick H1 500cc two stroke triple came out in 1969, followed by the infamous H2 750cc two stroke triple, AKA the “widow maker” in 1971.

In general - It's a good thing for a motorcycle to be light. It's a bad thing for a motorcycle to be heavy.

MotoGP bikes are 800cc prototypes. WorldSBK are 1000cc production-based ... not Hayabusas, not ZX14s, not Gold Wings, not any other overweight bike.

I draw the line at around 225 kg / 500 lbs. My 2004 ZX10R is a backroads sweetheart (for an experienced rider).

Those V8 things are an abomination ... and my 13 year old normal bike will leave them sitting in every possible way; even if someone comes up with some crazy hot rodded V8 contraption, all I have to do is go around a bend, or stop. Or ride past a gas station :lol:

Now that I date myself, right, it was in the early to mid '70's!

The guy I bought my Camaro back from showed me his drag bike with the really LONG wheelie bar on it! I wouldn't sit on it sitting still!!
