Nope ... in the past, Honda had a race motorcycle engine with "flat sided oval" pistons. The rod was a solid part of the very short piston with only one ring, (a Wankle seal), which intentionally rocked in the bore as it went through its stroke and the length of the oval bore was hourglass shaped in one plane.
It didn't last long because of the complexity with combustion sealing issues but, it did happen.
Figuring the bore volume was not very easy.

A stock block 350 in a Honda motor cycle must have been a screamer, getting past the water jackets must have been a real engineering feat, you gotta hand it to them foreigners for innovative design.

Exactly, so it had to go in a stock block as OP said, so it could not be oval and could not be possible as opposed to the thread that sponded this thread solely for the intent of mocking another forum member. Thanks for making my point for me.

Perhaps I could work something out on this dilemma. Could we possibly look into developing this idea but downsizing to a 4.500 Piston?

What would be the max bore size one could fit with up down offset bore center lines and furnace brazed in sheets?
