Yeah, it had nothing to do with natural gas being cheaper.Look what happened to burning coal! The politicians (using the EPA as a tool) have deliberately screwed the coal industry so that money can be funneled into the proper pockets.
Yes. Exactly.John Wallace wrote:Wouldn't this apply to the oil industry also?"Hybrid cars, like solar and wind power wouldn't exist without TAXPAYER subsidies."
(and probably coal)
Too bad. Up until 1999, I would have liked to have had a new Volvo.Volvo going Hybrid or Electric Only
What most people fail to realize is that every electric vehicle needs some recharging ability from being connected to a smoke stack somewhere.statsystems wrote:The same fools who think electric power is "cleaner" think solar power is also "cleaner". Neither is true. Both are economically stupid and very foul environmentally. You may think you've reduced your carbon footprint is less with electric it isn't. BTW carbon is a good thing.
It's funny that the RR's can buy slave engines that have say up to four Gen-sets mounted on them to use as yard engines to get away from the one road engine they generally use now. When not operating it, they can cut say three of the four gen-sets off and idle on the one until they need to work it.Walter R. Haven't locomotive train engines been in the hybrid family for over 70 years...?
