My wife was 'making me' go through my piles of papers and found a file with a copy of the title of my first 'official' car.
A '67 Ralley Sport Camaro convertible that I had way back in college that I sold to pay off a 3500.00 loan.
Anyhow, If anyone here has ever done a title search of where a car that "got away" ended up PLEASE post up!
I think It would be kinda neat to see if it's still alive and running (even neater if it was sitting not running and my wife said "sure.. GO GET IT"!!)
Thanks
E

I did a title search for a vehicle once ... it turned out that a wrecking yard was the last title holder some 14 years previous. I think I knew what happened after that.rockosocko wrote:My wife was 'making me' go through my piles of papers and found a file with a copy of the title of my first 'official' car.

I got my way early, Dec., '66 350SS/RS Camaro car back by taking my VIN and asking a friendly Trooper to run it through our State's License records. Got it back fine but had to pay out the wazoo for it.
It hadn't been licensed for like 3.5 years so he said, "Good-Luck!".. Turned out the Owner was in the Navy for four years so he just dropped it's plates.
I call it my, "SS/RS", car because when I ordered it, I checked the SS line before the RS line. Almost forgot the RS option!! Go figure...

FINALLY.. got some time to do a quick search for ways to search.
https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos ... ip-history

http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/news/how-t ... -your-ride
Now, if I could find where I put my copy.. I tell myself "I'll put it RIGHT HERE so I WON'T LOOS IT"
and never see it again til i look for my dial calipers, air chuck or oil filter wrench etc..
I'll let you guys know what happens once I find it again.

FWIW, I keep my vehicle titles with my Annual Personal Property Tax copies so I know where all of them are.
The one that really hurts is the 1980 C-10 Long bed P/U that I sold to Mark Brekke along with my 406 engine with only 13,000 miles on it for like $2,000.
Damned P/U still had the stock paint in the bed's corregations(Sp?)! And the floorboard in the cab was like new!
Of course all 4 fender tops were rusted out, but whatever..
F** Son said that he wouldn't drive it so I got mad and let Mark buy it. Big mistake!
