I was having that very conversation with a buddy the other night
Just to see if I could do it, one year almost every part of my "Engine Masters" entry was purchased used at swap meets or fabricated.

It doesn't take a lot of money to finish in the middle of the pack if you know what you are doing.
Readers don't usually recognize any of this but, people there, do.

Most people forgot or never knew how to make or re-purpose stuff because all they have ever done is buy it.

Barry R,
Quote" Customer dropped off a build I did about five years ago as a "deposit" on a new project.
I think that with a cam change and some new top rings this will become my alternate..." End Quote

Better get with it Barry. You need to quit calling it an "Alternate Engine"
Your in the program because we have had one drop out.
You will receive an Official notification soon.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

I was gonna wait until I knew for sure.

I think I have enough stuff around here to assemble a runnable piece without too much drama (now saying prayers to the gods of cam break in... [-o< )

Has there been a Official Sponsor List released so we know who to use for contingency? I still have some items to buy and would prefer to use those businesses! :D

I just wanted to give notice that we had another participant withdraw from traditional muscle and another withdraw from vintage.
As it now stands the vintage class has been reduced by 2.
With the latest drop from traditional Muscle there have been 2 alternates placed in the field of 16.
1.Survival Motorsports
2. Red Rocket

Heads up Randy.. your the next alternate up.
Hope that Ford is up & ready to go.

Heads are finished, short block together minus cam that got ground wrong, and working on my intake all weekend for effort #1. Tail end and just cosmetic things left. Hope everyone enjoys the appearance of this one! 8)

Effort #2 heads are nearly finished as I type this and working on the camshaft specs after I analyze the flow info. High gear to get it completed.

Typical burning of the candle at both ends!

To my Speed talk EMC Followers
There are 4 positions that are not posted in the list at
http://www.hotrod.com/articles/2017-ams ... -announced
They are 4 very important positions.
It was a tough decision,
but these 4 were chosen from a very good field of applicants.
They stood out because of their past support and their dedication to the
AMS Oil Engine Masters Challenge
The Traditional Muscle Alternates are:
1. Survival Motorsports Barry Rabotnick
2. Total Performance Randy Malik
3. Red Rocket Engine Daniel Boshears
4. Kustom Kemps Lynn Peterson
They have the job of filling in for any one that can not make the competition in October.
Congratulations and good luck to everyone.
See you at AMS Oil EMC in October
Here is your list Adger; posted by you.
