Shingles vaccine

Post by Kevin Johnson »

Well, I had no desire to experience this (my Grandmother had it) so I received a shot on December 7th at the local Publix pharmacy. I had chicken pox as a child.

About Christmas, Samantha started experiencing what she thought were small mosquito or bug bites. As we eliminated this as a possibility (and allergic reactions of various types) we finally came to the conclusion that she must have contracted chicken pox from my injection of the live virus in the shingles vaccine.

Yesterday this was confirmed by a local clinic that she does have chicken pox and she is in isolation at home now.

From what I could tell online this was thought to be impossible or at least, according to the CDC, has never happened. I called the CDC who directed me to the Florida Board of Health who directed me to our County Board of Health where I reported it.

One of Samantha's friends who is a physician consulted with her colleagues and they were very surprised and may write a paper on it.

Samantha had thought she had already had chicken pox as a newly arrived immigrant from Germany but careful questioning subsequently revealed this to be Roebella or measles (diagnosed by a doctor at that time).

Kevin,

I spent some time reading up on, "Shingles", tonight, nasty crap as is psoriasis and the other skin stuff people live with. It's in the same league as the other skin problems, no real money to be made curing them, but only in treating them as I see it....

Now from my other thread, have you looked deeper into treating fibromyalgia using minocycline tetracycline?

Please advise and have a Happy New Year.

Skin problems?

All mine went away within about 6 months of having my amalgam fillings removed.
It's quite common but the governments don't want it known.

My Mother had all these types of fillings removed prior to undergoing stem cell therapy (which was successful).

I got chicken pox from my mother's shingles when I was around 50 years old. Lots of people told me it could be a big problem getting it this late in life, but it turned out to be no big deal.

Here's a discussion of a similar occurrence. 2-3 cases like yours are mentioned

[My emphasis]
After getting the shingles vaccine, my doctor said to stay away from my pregnant daughter and my grandchildren. Can you tell me why?
Answers from James M. Steckelberg, M.D.

The virus that causes shingles — varicella-zoster virus — is also the virus that causes chickenpox. Your doctor's concern about your daughter and grandchildren may stem from reports of rare cases in which people with no immunity to chickenpox — meaning they've never had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine — have caught varicella-zoster virus from children recently vaccinated with the chickenpox vaccine.

However, there are no documented cases of the varicella-zoster virus being transmitted from adults vaccinated with the shingles vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

I did call and leave a message with Dr. Steckelberg's office that the expert answer needs to be amended. I suspect there would be reluctance to do this because it feeds into a fear of many people regarding vaccines (I do not share it).

Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis when no other reasons can be found. This does not mean that all cases of fibromyalgia are actually for the same reason(s).

Make no mistake -- there are people who have had negative reactions to minocycline. Breast cancer, for example.

THIS!

Root canals are terrible too and it's what I'm addressing now. Having blood drawn on Monday for a biocompatibility test to see if any ceramic fillings (used when I had my amalgams replaced years ago), bonding agents or the porcelain crowns are wigging my immune system out.

Very important and overlooked stuff.

Often you can have an infected root in a tooth and you don't even know.
Maybe a bit of bleeding when you brush your teeth.

That can have an effect on the rest of your body without knowing.

As far as amalgam fillings go...........I started getting skin problems at about the age of 12(early ' 70s). Dry itchy skin. Went to the doctor and got prescribed hydrocortisone, betnovate.......all sorts of other things that never did a lot apart from thinning the skin. Pine tar lotions.....all sorts.
At the same age........through the NHS (England)......we went to the dentist every 3 months for free, got lots of fillings, no needle, just drill and fill. Mainly caused by lots of lollies and lack of proper brushing.
Skin problems got progressively worse.
I've even been referred to the skin specialist at the local hospital in Wellington NZ.......no help whatsoever. He said I've just got sensitive skin and need to "manage it" properly.
My brother is a doctor now (in Hobart, Tas) He told me that in 6 years at med school, they had about 1 day on "skin".
Fast forwards 15 years.(in my early 20s)......I was working with a bloke who commented on my continuous scratching.......he mentioned that he used to have the same problems but it just went away one day.
So what happened for it all to go away?
He said he didn't know but it was about the same time he had all his teeth pulled out.
I didn't think too much of it at the time but about 15 years after that (30 odd years of suffering) I had my amalgam fillings all removed, had some teeth pulled too, one had an unknown deep root infection.
Within 3 months most of my skin problems were gone and within 2 years, they'd ALL gone. I haven't needed any medication since. I used to scratch all the time to the point of bleeding,my back, insides of joints, behind knees, feet............and hard dry skin on my elbows. When you scratch all the time you eventually get an infection so end up on anti biotics. Also have to keep the fingernails cut to minimise damage to yourself.
Prior to having my amalgam fillings removed, I'd been to the doctor and got myself tested for both lead and mercury levels (I use solder every day)...both came back as zero.

Since then I've read that amalgam fillings can be responsible for not just skin problems but other disorders like depression....and others.

Sorry, not related to shingles vaccine but it might help someone else.

It may not seem related but I bet it certainly can be and I don't think more vaccines are the correct approach. I just got my blood tests, dental compatibility report and xrays off to a biological dentist and he spotted my likely root cause almost immediately.

My immune system is doing exactly what it's supposed to do and that is to identify foreign, dead things in the body and remove them. Once a tooth has had its nerve bored out, it's recognized as "dead" and my body has been spending the last 30 some-odd-years dissolving it. Our immune systems can't deal with that sort of thing over the long term and it gets over-burdened along with your liver and kidneys trying to rid the body of all the toxic crap your immune system is dissolving and sending down stream.

Now you have a weakened immune system and are vulnerable to a whole host of crap that you could normally deal with. So I would urge anyone reading this who's having funky health issues to have some xrays done if you've got root canals.

That's my two cents.
