Maybe run some utilities, such as www.glarysoft.com . or driver booster 3.
Re: Computer scrolling really SLOW??
That also happens on my computer sometimes. I don't know what causes this, but turning the computer off or restarting it fixes the slow scrolling until the next time.

Maybe update Java, Flash Player, Shockwave. That's what I do when I get that problem. Not sure if it helps.

My computer is running pretty good now for why, I don't know??
Is it possibly because of 30,000(?) kids coming back to school here at MU, Stevens, and Columbia College overloading the local web grid?

Re: Computer scrolling really SLOW??
Four possibles come to mind, all experienced by yours truly.
1. very slow internet connection
2. for laptops, a power saving setting can slow down the whole show too much
3. Computer overloaded with cookies- a daily (or weekly) disc cleanup does wonders here, and a defrag once a week helps a lot too.
4. Downloading a "free" anti-virus program is all good until it slows down the computer by design, forcing you to pay for the "premium" version to get the speed back up again.

Also background programs running on your computer?
Something getting backed up to the 'cloud'
Some program getting downloaded to be installed
Anti-virus program running in background
Lots of other stuff

I just had a Duh moment. What OS and browser are you running? XP is basically dead, and IE sucks. I have Win 7 on an XP laptop running firefox.

Windows Office 7(???), heck, my Son set it up so I don't even know...
Mediacom went through several of our neighborhood yards and pulled through a new 1" dia, black, "cable", so now everything is working a lot better. Why, I don't know?
Several small to little holes and NO trenching!!
