You are asking for info that will get into the guys pockets if they tell you!!

Especially the f** "Flippers" on here!!!

But the real HONEST answer is what ever you can get for the stuff over and above scrap metal tonnage prices!!

Cast-iron, steel, and aluminum prices.... Not much copper in our hobby that I know of since the Model T days..

I just sold a 509 block in great shape, std bore, probably clean up at 0.010 over actually for $275 (I told the guy who bought it to only bore it as much as needed to clean it, since SRP makes OTS 0.005 and 0.010 pistons for it). Guess I should have charged more, but I wanted it gone.

350 4 bolt std bore $100
400 block $200
5.3 block, crank and heads $150
492 block, crank and heads $200
454 block about $300
6.0l block with spun cam bearings $0
882 heads $50 pair
427 crankshaft maybe $75 for turntable core.

There are so many cores in my area that I have some people just dropping them off for free.

Hi, Dave,

Start loading them up, five to a pallet. We'll take a semi-trailer load at $100 per.

$100 is about the most that I can get for them. The last one I bought was at a swap meet. The guy had a std bore 350 4 bolt main with a a $20 price tag on it. It was the end of the day and I looked it over and he said "I don't want to take it home, just give me $10". I bought it , sent it out for a bake and shot blast blast and tried to sell it for $200 and it took almost 2 months before anyone would even call on it.

Where I live vehicles rust from our harsh winters and that leaves a lot of good cores available for next to nothing.

Where do you get your used 502" BBC core blocks instead of buying a new one?

Thanks Ford,

In other words, I should have asked, "Who will sell a new 502" bare block at a good price?"..

If I think S&H is too high, I will figure out how to get it to me, my way..

Wow wish I lived closer to some other buyers I ended up with about 650-700 from local machine shop. Ended up trading out labor and parts to redo my 781 heads
