A class that would accomodate V-6 engines could bring out builders as well as spectators.
No one really wants to admit it but these engines have been the work horses for the last 30 years.
Wether its a mini van, mini truck , base model camaro and mustangs, work trucks, and on and on.
Alot of the types of vehicles young people own.
Limit the 4.3 to the late model Vortec head, everyone else will be dealing with stock heads.
No old NASCAR type parts OEM blocks carbuteted or FI 2500 to 6000 (they're not gonna break the dynos) 10.5: compression. Hyd. rollers or flat tappets.
They have just about no aftermarket support and you would definitley see innovation.
Waking up the sleepy 16-25 year old crowd might help keep hot rodding going.
The best scenario which can make this contest popular again is out front transparency with promotion, PROMOTION and MORE promotion.

YEA ... more broken promises ... actual rules will be divulged on February 1st, was the company line. Just the classes were given.

Riiiight; It was also said that they need the time to line-up sponsors first. (That used to be done by now with people, who Hot Rod Magazine staff, claimed to be of lesser capability at the much smaller Popular Hot Rodding).

Be prepared for that date to be extended further into the year ... AGAIN.

When the final rules do appear, I just hope they will present a level playing field for most every brand and don't get changed less than a month before the actual contest; as has sometimes happened. :-k

If that will truly be the case, for me it will be worth the wait. =D>
