There are no images of Powerglide transmission on Wikimedia Commons.

Anyone who has a decent digital camera and a Powerglide transmission waiting for overhaul is able to take a picture, upload it to Wikimedia Commons and declare it as a public domain picture. The picture could be used to illustrate a Wikipedia article.

Why don't you contact GM below and see if they have some nice technical drawings they would allow to be posted? Nice PR for them.

A 40 year old transmission "Motors Manual" should be available in a large library or maybe somewhere on here.

There is an aftermarket overdrive that is made by Gear Vendors that takes the place of your tailshaft and does the same thing, turning the transmission of your choice into an overdrive. You can figure on $3500 or so to get all the parts needed, installation would be extra if you can't do it yourself.
