Microsoft is sick and tired of customers resisting their latest shiny upgrade, and downright pissed off when they resist successfully, as with Vista and 8. So they are going all-in on establishing the capability to push any and all code/UI they want, for any purpose they want (DRM/adware/spyware/forced account login/whatever), to your machine at any time. If the current Windows 10 updates are this evil, imagine what they'll be like when users have no alternative.

Curious about the various telemetry and personal information being collected by Windows 10, one user installed Windows 10 Enterprise and disabled all of the telemetry and reporting options. Then he configured his router to log all the connections that happened anyway. Even after opting out wherever possible, his firewall captured Windows making around 4,000 connection attempts to 93 different IP addresses during an 8 hour period, with most of those IPs controlled by Microsoft. Even the enterprise version of Windows 10 is checking in with Redmond when you tell it not to — and it's doing so frequently.
Happened to me today ... I had Windows 8 and kept getting a window for the past few months asking me if I wanted to upgrade to the newer Windows 10).
I kept checking the NO box ... well, today, in the middle of doing something else, my computer "RESTARTED" by itself and UPDATED it to Windows 10.
None of the aftermarket fuel injection systems or MSD ignition boxes is compatible with this Windows 10 ... now what do I do when I go to use this laptop on one of those systems...?

You have a limited number of days to reverse this and return to Windows 8.
I have a new computer with 10 on it. Last week in the middle of doing our checks spreadsheet, it updated the Windows 10 for an hour. What a Clusterfuck! took the rest of the day to get anything to work. Wouldn't go online, etc. We were able to do a systems restore to an earlier date and fix it. But it's not systems restore anymore, hard to find for me but it's there. just called something else. Total bullshit. .... Kaase

Linux is nice, I haven't done it in years now. I need a decent system to install Linux on, is it still a mess dealing with monitor rates and stuff?
