What snow thrower to buy

Post by kid7755 »

Ok fellas. My friends from Florida who now line in Cleveland are asking what is best snow blower to buy. I have only played with old school gravelys such. What is the best "new junk" to buy? I just keep the old junk running here and most of the time my neighbor just plows it for me. He want to buy new

This is the brand I have. I did a ton of research before spending my money. Quality machines.

How big is the driveway?

For my little undersized city-lot driveway, I have a Honda HS520 that I bought several years ago. It has been fine.

This model does not have self-propulsion (less stuff to break) and it is compact enough that it doesn't eat up a lot of space in my garage.

If you have a somewhat-bigger driveway then you will want a bigger snowblower and then being self-propelled is a good thing to have. I know there is a Honda model above the one I have, which has this.

Imo, they want a snow blower, not a thrower [2 stage = blower]. Imo, one needs a steering system for a larger machine, wheeled or track. Some of the bigger track drive machines have skid steer. If they'll use it on an incline, a track drive is MUCH better.

At least as of a year or two ago, Honda machines do not steer. http://powerequipment.honda.com/snowblowers

I would look at Ariens too.
