Neat little Q and A with Tom Nelson. Pretty basic and straight forward, it was meant for the masses. None the less, I found a couple of things interesting... I had never considered main bearing wear on large roots style blown motors to be attributed to belt harmonics. Now, I have seen #1 upper main bearing wear from a belt that was too tight as I'm sure the rest of you have as well. Also, the comparison of roots to screw type blower efficiency caught my eye because I remember being in Corky Bell's shop years ago and he told me that the screw type having an internal compression ratio tended to overcome sandwich style intercoolers faster than a roots...all else being equal. This is a little opposite of Tom's take. Anybody have any thoughts?
