Re: Turned 70 Yesterday!
Many happy returns.
Pretty much in the same boat. My Dad had his first heart attack age 50, died end of last year aged 77. I always said from an early age when I go the ol' ticker will likely be the cause, as it had claimed most of the outlaws, lol. So I kinda decided to look after myself to some extent, hobbies and the odd enjoyable beverage aside ...... Rather go a youngish sinner than an old saint.Ken0069 wrote:That and all my aunts and uncles, etc on my Dad's side of the family either have heart trouble or are dead from it.

Re: Turned 70 Yesterday!
I don't celebrate birthdays, but congrats for making it to 70. My Dad's 80, and still going strong. I went to see him yesterday and he was on the roof of his house messing with a TV antenna.
To me 70 isn't as old as 35 was 30 years ago. My Dad and Grandfather were building contractors. I wanted to be a mechanic since I was young. When I got my first dealership job just out of high school my Grandfather said. "You need to re think being a mechanic. Do you know any old mechanics?" I said "yes, Eddie is a mechanic" Eddie was (and still is) a really good friend of mine, who's 16 years older than I am. At that time I was 18, he was 34 and he was my "old mechanic" example. We joke about that all the time. Ever now and then he says "do you remember how old you thought I was when I was the age you are now?"

I used to be a people person, but people ruined it.

Ken,
Happy, Happy, Happy!!!
My Dad died around 45 or so years old back when I was like 14.5 years old. I'm 68 and I think about it a lot!
Wished he would have been around to see my three and now our three GB girls!
He, He!! If I would have known that I was going to last this long, I would have lived life HARDER!!
Just think about the many more B-Days ta come for you!
