I'm signed up for the "rules release" announcement at PRI, it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, they make.
The announcement of the 4-valve mod motors being allowed back in prompted an interesting discussion.......................
What if there was a class where you could run any engine you wanted but it had to remain stock bore (+.060" allowed) and stock stroke for the cylinder head used............ you could run the 4-valve but you would be limited to 5.0 liters or you could run a 454 Chevy (open chamber) or a 427 LS7, or a 460 Ford wedge (Boss would be 429), 426 Hemi, Gen3 Hemi @ 6.2 L, etc...................................... And then it wasn't scored on average+peak per cubic inch but scored on average+peak overall and run them 3500-7500.......................... that would be rather interesting wouldn't it
I think if they were to allow 4 valve Ford MOD motors they should also allow ALL American 4 valve V8 engines in that class ... the Buick Aurora and Cadillac Northstar come immediately to mind.
Lots of power parts available for the Aurora.

How about ALL 4 valve V8's ? Porsche 5.0 anyone
The rules of this contest have been changed all over the place and encompassed a lot of different scenarios but, one thing which has remained a constant is "American passenger car V8 engines".
Not saying that should be encased in concrete but, that IS the one constant.
Sorry Randy. The final rules will be out Jan 16. With the changes there are Too many loose ends to tie up to get them out now.
Good overview & class announcements now.
It will be an interesting program.
Come on Randy let's turn a little of that negative energy to Positive!!!

Adger ... I expected it.
NO ONE there has their stuff together. They could have finalized a couple or three classes and worked some more on the rest for a later date.
I am probably not even going to that lame EMC conference because ED ISKENDERIAN is presenting a conference at the same time and it will surely be more useful and certainly more entertaining.
That link is merely to a rough outline of where the 2016 rules are headed. The official rules are not going to be revealed until at least the middle of January ... wanna bet it will be delayed later than that ???
Wow, 3 classes for Chevrolets. How stinkin' convenient.
