Good for what...?
Miniscule particle filtration, freeist flowing, highest by-pass pressure difference, etc. I am sure there would be a different answer for all of the above so, it is a matter of what compromise YOU are wanting.

Personally, for the compromise I like for a Ford, Chrysler or Chevrolet, I prefer the "JOMAR" filters with no by-pass.

By good I mean made by some one that actually cares about what they are making. And how critical it is that it does not pollute the engine or machine it is intended for. I really don't like to see small metal particles on new oil filters around the threaded mount holes, or think about the sub standard glues or what ever used to hold the filter media etc. etc.
Seeing metal particles on the threaded section of the short pipe holding a "spin on" filter is probably from oil going into that filter. Oil coming out of the filter after being filtered goes through the INNER part of that nipple; filtered oil doesn't see the threaded part.

For your stated criteria ... there are MANY.

I'll never use a throw away after using this one from Professional Products... I have 30,000 miles using one of these filters on my 462 Pontiac..

To me it needs to filter down around 10 microns or so.

45 microns is like 325 mesh, (0.0017").. Imho, too big..

But I will guarantee that it will polish the inside of the engine! We had to rebuild a 350 cfm stationary electric air compressor that was used to test castable gunning cement refractories using "gunite" techniques. They had 325 mesh in them and the Machine Shop said the unit was polished great inside when they tore it down!!!
