I did have this post in another topic, I've shifted it here
I have 2 colt pistols, both in good working condition
1 ) An 1849 pocket series 5 shot 31 cal ... 6" barrel , you can still see some of the engraving on the cyl, the only disappointing thing is, some of the serial #'s don't match
2 ) An 1862 ? navy frame .38 cal cartridge conversion from the percussion .36 cal. It's in lovely condition.
I believe it is called a Mason and Richards conversion ? This gun looks identical to the one that that fella takes out of his homestead bedroom cabinet draws about 1/4 way through " 3 :10 to Yuma " with Russel Crowe,
serial # is 3333 and nickle plated.
So what have I got here ? rare, value ??

Re: old colt revolvers
I'll take a stab, but they need to be appraised by someone qualified...
The 1849, from $500. up to $12,000. (certain models, excellent condition with original box and all accessories)
If "lovely" means excellent condition (including original plating and varnish), the 1862 conversion is going for around $3500.
