It wouldn't surprise me if they were looking for reasons to oust him, they tend to be touchy when anyone makes the medical profession look bad... This goes ESPECIALLY for the drug companies, they want to keep you medicated but not cure you. While I have no plans to buy his meds or books or anything else, there are some valid points to consider. There are a lot of things we eat that are not good for us, and if these things cause inflammation in the body we would be best to avoid them. I'm eating much better than I did before, avoiding the things on his list and still eating about the same amount, but I've lost about 20 lbs in the process. I've had an issue with Ulcerative Colitis (an inflammatory disease) for around 10 years now, yet for even before the surgery after making some dietary changes I've had zero issues and I'm taking no meds for it. Minimize your intake of sugar and anything made with it. Truvia or stevia products are a great substitute, honey or real maple syrup for other things can be used. Minimize made with processed flour, use whole wheat or whole grains. Look at the Omega 6 content of the vegetable oils you use, oils like Olive oil are better to use. Buy organic foods as much as you can afford, you avoid hormones, pesticides, preservatives, and antibiotics when you do. You will be surprised how much better you feel when you do, you might even feel like exercising...

My own research, coming from a family with heart disease, is that fish and hemp oils are the top two....
And since fish oils do have that scent, I use hemp powder and hemp butter on bread.
Maybe more importantly, it's generally agreed that butter and other milk fats (high fat cheese) are the most problematic.

I've got a pretty strong BS detector, and I have to say that doc quoted earlier, is at best dumbing down his content...

My own research, coming from a family with heart disease, is that fish and hemp oils are the best two...and that is decided largely by them rebalancing 6:3 ratios
And since fish oils do have that scent, I use hemp powder mixed in with flour, and use hemp butter on bread. The little tub of green hemp butter (like peanut butter) is expensive, but I've grown to really like it.

Maybe more importantly, overall, it's generally agreed that butter and other milk fats (high fat cheese) are the most problematic.
