Holy crap you guys. My original post was intended to inject a little light hearted humor into this general discussion board. But as usual, this post as with most of the others turned into a political battlefield. I thought Speedtalk was for engine builders, racers and general gear heads to discuss and exhange ideas pertaining to the performance and racing industry. There are those on here (and you know who you are) that talk as if they are Washington insiders. My guess is that you are only able to form your own opinion from what is filtered to you from the various news outlets same as me. I think it would be nothing short of arrogant to think you know any more unless you are actually part of the closed door discussions in Washington, or a former military strategist or better yet a former Secretary of State but I don't think any of us have those qualifications. I never said Obama didn't have anything to do with this operation. I simply compared him to Ronald McDonald who along with his friends the Hamburgler and Grimice enticed you to come into McDonalds in the first place to have that hamburger that the cook made.

Do I have this more or less correct?

Well...not exactly. I don't think it's presidential to take credit for things. They should remain humble and let the people decide for themselves. Praise or credit is something to be given.

A couple weeks after Obama first took office I clearly remember him calming an agitated crowd of his constituents. I don't remember what they were arguing about but he said something to the extent,
"Wait...wait a minute. I'm the president now...you can blame me."
That gave me a more favorable impression at first but unfortunately I never heard him say it again.

I also don't think it's presidential to blame his predecessor for things that continue to go wrong. Before the election any president is fair game but once the oath has been is taken he should be ready to accept responsibly for whatever happens under his leadership. I can't respect a president who blames everyone other than himself.
