Bumper Cars Reborn
What to do with old bumper cars ?
It's easy for a gear-head to be discouraged about the state of the world, especially in times of Carpocalypse and Cash for Clunkers.
But occasionally a bright light of creativity renews the spirit. Or at least makes you shake your head in amazement. My mom forwarded me an e-mail that contained a brief explanation and a few pictures. Thought they were interesting.
Road-legal bumper cars.
There are seven of these little monsters floating around California , and they're all the creation of one man, Tom Wright , a builder in the outskirts of San Diego who figured the leftovers of the Long Beach Pike amusement park needed a more dignified end than the trash heap.

Re: Bumper Cars Reborn
And here is the last picture I have. They are supposedly powered by Kawasaki or Honda 750 motors. He had tried Harley, originally, but they rattled too much.....??

Re: Bumper Cars Reborn
Now that's a great idea! Glad to see these cultural icons of the past are being saved and put to good use.
