NEW FEATURE: Photo/Attachment Upload

Post by speedtalk »

I've just turned on the most requested new feature. I've got to tweak the settings, so I'm looking for feedback.

Max uploads per post: 1
Max file size: 256k
As of now, images taller or wider than 700px will be posted as links. This should keep the forum from being stretched too far right.

-Thanks for getting this feature----it's super easy to use--and should eventually become a great addition to your website.

-Personally I also like the idea of having a place to list parts for sale and for parts wanted.

-Thanks for all your effort.

I can't get the attachment process to work. When I click on 'reply', then open the "upload attachment' box below it, nothing happens when I click on 'browse'. If I go to 'My Photos' and do a 'copy' from the one I want, it won't paste in the Filename box. What am I doing wrong? =P~

I have noticed it being a little flaky. Try this...click on the white filename box first. Then try the "browse" button.

I can get it to UPLOAD just fine but when I try and see MY picture it says it isn't DOWNLOADED yet and it does not automatically show the picture.

OK, it's there as a link, but since I don't know how to downsize my pix, and most of them are too big to show up directly on the posts or even as a link , I vote for a little more elbow room re size... :(

Bill,
There is a free program called IrfanView which will let you resize images and crop them plus many other things. http://www.irfanview.com/

Adding photo upload is a huge drag on the server. I think 256 is more than fair. Most photo programs have a feature to downsize now days. Just as we talk nice to our cars and pat them on the dash, we need to be nice to the speed talk server :D

Being able to post pictures is a big improvement. Saves the extra step of having to upload the picture somewhere else first and then coming back to the this post.
