TransAm, Scott Brown's win in Massachusetts is good news...... It is as much a testament to the people's choice in that state as it is a harsh rebuke of Obama's radical socialist agenda and the way in which he and his henchmen in Washington are pursuing it.
Yes, Brown's win sends a message to those in Washington...... But don't think for a moment that Obama and those he surrounds himself with will heed the voice of the people regarding their overwhelming rejection of socialized medicine and all it entails. The ultra left-wing Democrat party leadership bought and paid for by George Soros are the most reprehensible bunch you will likely encounter in this life. Nothing is beneath them, no matter how despicable. So look for all manner of stalling to seat Senator Brown whilst they see if they can buy the vote of a RINO such as Olympia Snow and if all else fails, look for them to attach this bill to one unrelated in an attempt to invoke 'reconcilation' in the Senate, which requires only 51 votes.
Don't let your guard down,
Harry

Keith, I understand your frustration at what you rightly see as out of state interference in your state election process...... From both sides of the aisle.Keith Morganstein wrote:You all will be very happy to know that Brown won. As I wrote before it does not surprise me. Brown ran a good campaign. Coakley did not and had all the charisma of a dead fish
For what its worth, conservatives...... Both independents such as myself and Republicans alike...... Felt the same way priour to the '08 elections when Democrats voted in Republican primaries in those states that allowed them to do so...... And by so doing, managed to ensure the least likely candidate to draw conservative support was picked as the Republican presidential candidate long before Republicans here in Texas even had their primary. And the rest is history, as they say.
So now we all are suffering...... Democrat, Republican and disenfranchised conservative independents such as myself as well...... As Obama and his henchmen do their best to destroy all that is good and right about America and remake our nation into a socialist, fascist regime subservient to the globalists in the UN. A sad day for America....... And a call to action for all those of us who will stand up and fight them as long as G-d grants us breath!
Best regards,
Harry

I know many across the country will see it as some sort of referendum on national politics, but I don't think that's the case here at all.
It was just candidates and campaign. People just liked Brown more than Coakley. Brown ran as a pseudo independent with a mostly positive message. Coakley went very heavy negative with ads and had nothing positive to offer.
People were very disgusted with the negative ads and incessant robo phone calls from both sides.

I don't see how you can truthfully say that.Keith Morganstein wrote: I know many across the country will see it as some sort of referendum on national politics, but I don't think that's the case here at all.
Brown ran as the 41st vote to stop the health care bill.
He made no bones about it.
Every group of voters from MA I saw interviewed said the reason they voted for Brown was because they wanted to send a message to DC. These were voters who voted for Obama, but were sick of how the Dem's have been running the country.
Coakley had a 20point lead before Reid bought Nabraska's vote.
Over 2 million voters went to the polls for a special election to fill one office. That requires a lot more motivation then just " People just liked Brown more than Coakley"

Mike, I actually live here in MA. I talk to lots of people and live in a fairly conservative Central MA town. Being the 41rst vote against health care just was not a big topic of conversation. People just like Scott Brown. He has charisma and overall appeal.CamKing wrote:I don't see how you can truthfully say that.Keith Morganstein wrote: I know many across the country will see it as some sort of referendum on national politics, but I don't think that's the case here at all.
People will spin this however they want, but if anything it's a vote against the status quo.
So now I hope we have sent someone to Washington that will be good for our state and the country (and not be another embarrassment from MA).

I don't think You, I, or the people we hang out with are "Average voters".
If they were, we wouldn't be where we are today. I only know of two people where I live that voted for Obama.
There have been many focus groups, and exit polls done in MA. In every one I've seen, the main reasons given for voting for Brown were about sending a message to Washington.
To get over two million voters out for a special election, something had to get them energized. " People just liked Brown more than Coakley", just doesn't sound too energizing to me.

Can one be good for both? I thought that to be good for the state meant one had to lie and steal from other states and not worry about what is good for the country. When it comes to bringing home bacon you get what you can and who cares how other states are doing.Keith Morganstein wrote:So now I hope we have sent someone to Washington that will be good for our state and the country.
