A CNC Landis can now grind a production flat tappet cam in 6 minutes.

I remember in high school, (over 40 years ago), we used to describe the DEGREE of severety with a camshaft from regular to a racing camshaft.
Back then we had a choice of an OEM procuction cam, an OEM high performance cam, a RACING cam or one 3/4 of the way TO a racing cam.

We all wanted a 1/4 to 1/2 racing cam, (there just wasn't any such thing), which today would probably be a "RV" or "Street/Strip" camshaft.

That term has been around since the early flat head days for sure...!

Well, 2 out of 3.
"Better" wasn't part of the equation when they designed the Landis grinders.

:D Brent, liberty in the PI was much wilder than TJ. You have known no joy until you've beat feet down Magsaysay with half the Olongapo PD hot on your heels at 0-dark thirty in the morning and wind up wading across the Sh*t River to dodge the guards at the gate. Don't ask me how I know that.

No, you're right about that.
I was comparing it to the seventies Berco's.

The old gang grinders used for production cams were crap.

 I reckon we've all have our share of youthful indiscretions, Brent. Their worth lies in what we may have learned from them.

Best regards,
