New Health Care Plan By Senator Baucus

Post by 1989TransAm »

Here is the link to the 856 billion dollar plan. I think this one is DOA.

So is this Obama's plan? He has been talking about one and will be going on the Sunday talk show circuit sans Fox. If not when will we see the details of his plan?

 Let's hope so. At any rate, this plan has the Democrat party leadership upset because there is no provision (at least for the time being) for a single payer system ushering in socialized medicine.

And the Republicans aren't on board because the Democrats have used their power as majority party in Congress to pretty well freeze them out and prevent any consideration of their proposals.

So for now...... Its an impasse...... Because the majority of Americans have made it very clear that we will hold anyone in Congress (and in the White House as well) who forces this on us against our wishes...... Accountable at the polls come election time.

Better the whole of so-called 'health care reform' should die on the vine than something far worse than what we now have be forced on us.

Looking forward to 2010 and 2012,

The only thing yobama knows is what's on the teleprompter. He's neither into original thinking, or telling the truth.

Plan? He don't need no stinking plan (as the saying goes). His ambition is to get an open ended plan rammed through Congress, and then wing it. Probably not in our best interests, but probably very good for politicians wanting big corporate money for their campaigns (and personal pocketbooks).

I used to laugh at the corruption in Mexico and the Soviet Union. Now, I'm crying at what's happening in the USA.

I also used to wonder how England went from being an industrial giant, a leader in the arts and sciences, and one of the best place to live in the world to what is is now, all in the course of thirty or so years. I can see it happening here now.

"I can see it happening here now"

I'm afraid you are correct. England is a mess.

There are people in various other countries that consider the US the "last stand" if you know what I mean. These countries have succumbed already and the US is following suit, just at a much slower pace. There are a lot of people in the US that are either pushing back or would like to push back, but I don't see the pendulum stopping, let alone reversing direction.

It is easy to see what is not right, well easy for some people, but is there or will there ever be a full scale plan to get things back in shape? Perhaps time will have to pass and the situation progress a lot further before any action is taken, but then that is likely to be real nasty.

IMHO

And people think that's "crazy". I guess our country's founders were nuts too. They HAD to take up arms. It'll probably be a different generation though. They'll rally behind "the good ol days".

I think it will be nasty and I think the govt may even fire on citizens....

The problem is we have a lazy culture now...people who want and expect something for nothing. That breeds complacency. Complacency breeds radicals.

If you keep the people hungry, they'll swallow anything.

You can feed almost anything to anyone if you feed it slow enough that either they don't notice it, or they don't get upset enough about it to do anything. Even more effective if it spans over a few generations. Respect, admiration and belief in the wisdom of those that came before us is simply not being passed on from one generation to the next in far too many instances. I think modern society has come to equate technology and so forth with wisdom and brilliance (i.e. we are so much smarter because we have so many advantages over previous generations which obviously must have been dumber and should be ignored), when in fact in many ways it is very much the reverse.

I think we are past the tipping point. The situation, as it exists now, is that the best way for most (more than 50%) of the people to make a living is to legally extort it from the minority (taxes). As the privately employed minority shrinks further and further, the number of people who are dependent on the government for employment or a hand-out will continue to grow. Eventually we will end up with a bankrupt socialist government. In fact, we are pretty close to that now. The last gasp was when Bush was elected and had a Republican majority in Congress. They blew it and that opportunity will not come again in the forseeable future. The game is over and if one person can be held responsible, it's Bush.

Being a conservative...I have to agree with everything. To me, Bush was "moderate" most of the time. Complacency and temptation by power to the congress, ruined a lot of possibilities. It all comes down to integrity, which this society values less and less. We bitch about it, but we still elect the best liar.

For month's now Obama has been talking about "his" health care plan. I have yet to see it. It appears that it is want he wants it to be depending on the audience he is talking to at that moment. This thing is like vapor-ware. :D

He is going to be on the Sunday talk show circuit sans Fox pushing his health care plan. It will be interesting if anyone in the state run media will ask him where one could go to look up the details about "his" plan.
