Project 69 Camaro

Post by Dans69RS »

I read the series with a great deal of interest as I have a very similar combination. This said I was wondering if you could tell me what plugs you are running in the aluminum heads and what your launch method and rpm are (transbrake or footbrake)
Have you tuned the caltracs any further since your series and what are your 60 fts like?

My combo is as follows;
69 RS SS
461 cuin, GM perf. parts ovals, solid roller 252,262 dur and 650 lift, Wiend 7546 intake, 10.5:1 compression, eagle rods SRP pistons etc etc.
Trans is Coan racing TH400 with 4200 rpm nitrous convertor with brake running to a 9" with Locker and 4:11 rear gear. Frame has been tied and I have a 6 point cage. Run 275-60 MT drag radials with Southside bars, CE eng shocks and 60 ft with wheels up 1.57-1.60 with 3800 rpm off brake.
Still dialing things in has so far run an 11.54 at 115 best.

This motor was built for a restored 69 Camaro SCCA car, project was stopped by owner Bob Carroll and engine to be sold.
350-4.060 bore, 3.48 stroke, 10.27 CR, 397010 block with main bearing cap girdle. 360 CI
186 straight plug ported heads, 2.02 and 1.60 stainless HP valves, original 2.020 factory heads with relieved intake side chamber wall.
Weiand Stealth aluminum intake (same as original)
Full floating 5.7 pink con rods with HP bolts. Flat top pistons with skirt coating.
New 30/30 cam, Isky lifters, moly push rods with guide plates, rocker locks, double chain, two piece
timing cover, high volume oil pump, zinc chromate oil pan.
Motor will be dyno tested and tuned as soon as my dyno is back in working condition, I am setting it up so I can install a TH 400 behind it to test converter slip and also trans modifications.
