shock question

Post by dbusch »

i am thinking about sending my Koni drag shocks back for stiffer valving. problem is, a cant make them stiff enough to control the front springs. is this logic right?? i should be able to have more control over wheelstands with the front shocks than i have now. i can go from 50% to 100% stiff with no change in the way it pitch rotates...

to dusch regarding shocks. shocks are a timing device for the suspension and will not prevent wheel stands. maybe wheelie bars are a better fix than working with shocks. If you are pulling wheel stands, you are getting great bite from your tires. You also mentioned limiting rotation and I assume you mean that your car is rotating along its axis front to back. If so, you may want to work with your rear spring rates and rear shock compression rates. You may end up running different rates side to side. Koni makes shocks that are externally adjustable in both compression and rebound. Most important, have fun.
