Two points here.
1st, remember to install the M/C pushrod in the top hole of the brake pedal when you remove the power stuff. You will probably need to R&R the M/C here so it is in the proper position.
And 2nd, you might look into, "Praise", brake pads and shoes if they are still in business? BUT they might be too pricey for you?

And third the Bore on the M/C will need to be around the 3/4" region to get the right amount of pressure.

I've ran a set of EBC Yellow Stuff pads on my '73 daily and they had noticable more bite.
They dust the wheels really well too. At least you could see your money go to dust, and where it ended up on where you had to wipe it off again.

One other thing here that I thought I would mention.
A power M/C has a shallow pushrod hole whereas a non-power master cylinder will have a deep pushrod hole.
Just check and make darn sure that your pushrod CAN"T fall out if the master cylinder piston sticks in is all because on a shallow hole power M/C, the vacuum power "can" holds the pushrod in place and the deep hole non-power M/C won't let the pushrod fall out!!! The pushrod is in too deep to fall out regardless...

There was something different about it because the Nova I removed the master from had it spaced out away from the firewall. I guess I should have kept some of the other pieces when I scrapped the car.

Maybe you are thinking that it was mounted to a, "channel", with a, "wing", on each end of each leg to space it out??? Holes in the wings would allow bolting it to the firewall if not mistaken??

Extra nuts on the studs. The car was built by someone with either very few fabrication skills, no patience or both. The roll cage was frightening to look at.
