Wheel bearing clearance

How much clearance is need for a hub style wheel bearing abs gear? C4 corvette fronts, the gear fits into a pocket on the alum spindle. I got a couple bearings and one hits because the gear is crooked and the other has .03 clearance between the back flat side of the gear and depth of the spindle pocket. Something tells me I should not use the .03 one LOL
