BBC roller lifters

Post by Len »

Recently installed cam and degreed in on BBC , owner upon installation of lifters mentioned that they didn't look right. Upon further inspection realized rollers were not parallel with centerline of cam, called comp replaced lifters same problem, got crane lifters problem went away.
Anyhow with today's high spring loads this would create tremendous side loads on the roller and lifter body and some of the lifter problems attributed to roller bearings my indeed be due to extreme side loading and heat buildup. Make sure you check lifter line up on BBC's. If someone has some lifters that have failed maybe they could check and see if their was heat build up on one side and post observayions here.

Len,
If you look at the link bar, they have the word 'up' and an 'arrow', you should be able to read this in the installed position.(pointing up)
The rollers will line up. Put the links upside down or backwards, and they won't.
