Yep!!!
And 38s, just wasn't gonna Get-ur-dun!!!
Plus I needed a larger CS.

If the the flow numbers were in the 400+ (like I was told,) I would have tried the smaller port size.

Anyone know if this motor was finished? I'm curious to see if it made what was planned? I have an 18° 403" SBC that it torn down for a freshen up after a Jesel belt drive slipped. I was thinking of trying to find a little more HP. It currently made 780HP on motor, but more is ALWAYS better.

What does this comment mean? I don't remember seeing anything in this thread about a truck. :-s

I am waiting for updates as well.

Was the 393" motor in a Silver Chevelle? That does sound like a nice motor, but I have an 18° that I am putting back together.

Thanks,

With only 4 pulls on the Dyno it made 909 HP @ 8400 RPM!
I didn't reach my goal, but sure if I would've let a Pro port my intake (i ported it myself), removed the fogger nozzles, played with different Cams combos, and used a well built Carb (not out of the box), I would have been a lil closer to my goal.

A friend of mine, Ray Newton, made 1340 HP with a nitroused 420 Rodeck tall block, 350 CFM heads, back in the mid 90's. Car was "Spirit of St. Louis" 61 Chevy. Can't imagine why you won't reach your goal today. Let me know if you are interested in his build sheet.
