I've read that some older Alfa Romeo fours pumped water through the cylinder head, but though the block was water jacketed and there gasket openings connected it to the head, there was no water pumped there. This was supposed to maintain a more even temperature from cylinder to cylinder.
Does anyone know which specific Alfa motors were like that, and if any other manufacturer did things that way?
