Re: Pro Systems Venom-VX...?
Nothing really special about them. Patrick builds good carbs, but there are a lot of others out there that do as well. The fact of the matter is, it's not going to make any more power over any other carb when it's compared to another one with the same calibration, flow rates, etc....If the carb is properly matched for the combo, properly calibrated, then you'll see little if any difference from carb to carb. Yeah, I hear about the latest and greatest tricks with metering blocks and such, but regardless, it still comes down to setup. The advantage of buying one from a builder is getting one that's very closely dialed into your combo, as they usually have the data to get it right. They don't alway though, and even when they are close it will still require some fine tuning. Even with an out of the box carb, if you spend some time working on it you'll have one that can run with a custom carb. But an out of the box carb won't even be close because they have general setup instead of a more dialed in setup like a custom carb....
Either way, spend the money if you want, but if you have a combo now that's pretty dialed in, don't expect anything substantial over what you have except a lighter wallet.......

It has a cool snake logo on it...that's new. I agree, unless there is something new and trick about it its just another performance carb. Its still on the end user to get the most out of it. I wouldn't expect someone 1000 miles away to be able to hit dead on the fuel set up.
