EQ magnum sbm heads
I have a customer that needs some replacement magnum heads. This engine is an older mopar 380 hp crate engine. Does anybody know the quality of valves and springs used in these complete heads from them. Thanks

The springs are told to be good to .570" lift and they have good quality Exh seats.

Depends on who you buy them from and what spring package you get from them. Buying EQ's as complete heads appear to be completed at the seller's shop. (It's not like the Edelbrocks where the manufacturer supplies a specific spring package depending on the lifter type, or as bare heads.)

Re: EQ magnum sbm heads
The stock replacement heads have OEM equivelent components used in them.
They are a good head to swap to for a performance improvement over a junk yard revived head.
They have better seats then the stock heads did/do. They are just a stock replacement head with stock parts used in
them so you may be better off getting them bare but be careful using non hard chromed stem valves in these castings
as they are harder then the OEM heads and a cheap stainless valves with non chromed stems will gall and hang the exhaust valves in the guides.
We always buy our heads bare and build up to what the customer's needs are. That way there is no issues with guide clearances or the wrong springs wrong valve sizes etc.

I am running a set from IMM on a 5.9 in a 68 Barracuda . These have proprietary Ferrea 2.02 intakes and Springs/Guides good to .550 lift.
I think I paid 1600 shipped with mild port work. Car runs great !
