Quantifying Wet Flow

There obviously seems to be some people here who are using wet flow devices to check those characteristics of their cylinder heads and induction systems. My question is, how do you quantify changes in wet flow performance? I have done only limited checking on my own and I can see how it might be simple to see the difference between a major problem and something better, but how seriously are you guys taking this and how do you do it?
