Re: before/after 383 dyno results
I'm surprised anyone post here anymore considering most get treated like shit!

It's likely that woulda happen doing a 45* on these Brodix heads. The valve job was that bad.
The 50* only hurt the flowz up to a little over .100" lift. That's not what I normally see going to a 50*.
But,.. I guess what really matters is what it does on the second dyno session.

When?...Dyno...Dyno...Dyno...lol. They Dyno matters to see your hp gain, but the on track before and after will be the true proof in the pudding to me.
Re: before/after 383 dyno results
Yea, lower et is what he's after. Not sure how good his will car be at showing a power increase. I've only watched the car run when the previous guy owned it, and it was outta control a lot. I actually watched it get outta control and spin around backwards and end up pointing towards the starting in the other lane when it came to rest. He just drove it back down the track to the starting line and headed back to the pits through the staging lanes. Short wheel base Vega.
But this owner was smart enough to get some help from a local guy that's pretty good with chassis.
Probably will need more stall, but he's not against sending it in to Coan or buying a new one. Probably see how the chassis handles it first.

They are 2 inch headerZ right now. He'z not against gettin some different onez .

Re: before/after 383 dyno results
You planning on doing some header tests? Thats my least favorite operation to do on the dyno lol
Re: before/after 383 dyno results
As of last year I never dyno'd a motor in my life, so I took some different collectors to test when I did mine, so now I understand why testing headers sucks so bad...lol.
Re: before/after 383 dyno results
How much gain do you want to see from this combination? What would be considered successful? I'm just curious, it looks like there is a fair amount left on the table
Re: before/after 383 dyno results
I'd like to see it make 540 Lbs TQ at 5400-5500 rpm and hang on to 90% of that TQ till above 7000 rpm.
Doesn't seem outta line, but one never Knowz till you got it back on the dyno.

Re: before/after 383 dyno results
So it needs to make 1.4......doable, and not fall apart too quickly after that. So that would be 647 with a 7000 rpm peak...695 with a 7500 rpm peak. 540 pounds seems doable just a matter of how well it hangs on then.

English and grammar are not my strong suit.CGT wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 7:14 pmNo. That only works with bold colorful font using very mediocre grammar skills and no dyno sheets.... just theoryStan Weiss wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 6:58 pm So have I got this right? The heads are better, the engine makes more HP and the car runs the more barbs and zingers someone posts.
Stan
So I will have to check into the difference between theory and applied physics.
I guess this should catch me up.

I'd say that would be part of the decisions you make.
