Dates Changed For Race Engine Challenge

Post by Gregory »

We here at Race Engine Challenge (REC) listen to our engine builders and by popular request we are moving
our dyno racing contest forward two weeks to the week of September 16th.
We are also going to be adding to our tech conference (tech talk) this year for those who want to come listen
to the sounds, rub elbows and learn more that week than anywhere else possible.
Speaker schedule and attendance fees will be published in the near future.

Two weeks sooner ... I will still be prepared.

Now that my C3 headed Ford small block engine must run in the "Canted valve / Hemi" class, (even though the valves are NOT canted at all but, merely twisted in the chamber), I will be preparing a small block Chevrolet to compete in that "Inline Valve" class.

I will still bring the C3 Ford engine but, with different carbs and a slightly different camshaft to make it even better.

Anybody else willing to disclose what their entry is going to be...?

I have an interest in bringing a "Show and Tell" engine to exhibit. There is supposed to be a position for something like that I saw somewhere. I am putting together a 350 small block Chevy to 1970 LT-1 specs and visually to replicate it. Found a pair of heads that came off a 1970 LT-1 engine, and started the project with the heads. Located an original LT-1 intake and the project is off and running. The 11/1 pistons are still available and I have a set now. Just a stroll down memory lane for me and a backup for my 1973 Z-28 Camearo.

This date change is great.

Now I can visit the other contest as well as being a contestant in this one.
SO, maybe some in that other contest will now visit this one.

Maybe it was a fallback move for being too late to delete the post?

Guys,

I am, as requested, just about to start a separate thread here intended for attendees to see what advanced comments any of those holding seminars are going to speak about.
This well be under the heading 'REC Seminar content'
