Identifying sbc rods (billet)

Post by rewguy »

I've had a few diff sets of the billet chinese rods, and these are NOT at all like those that I've seen. They are 6" long, 2.100/.927, std width. They have a greenish/yellow hue (almost old holley carb like color). They don't have capscrews, but moreso a stud. Still 7/16 fine thread. I can make out NO lettering or insignia on either end of the stud.

Oliver i beams run a cap screw, the old crower grand national rods had a bolt and nut in their steel rods and their ti rods as well. Both crower ti and steel looked the same dimensionally except for the weight and PRICE tag.

I recall Summit having a house brand rod .Maybe 10 to 15 years ago . I think it had that stud set up instead of bolts . Don't really remember exactly . Dan

I have a set of those, I'll take a pic if someone wants to see them.
