A proprietary gig so this will not be a full disclosure thread but I thought some may be interested. I also have only done one LS3 head before so this will be a learning curve. This flowsheet is after a bit of developement on stock valve job. 2.2" intake 1.6 exhaust. These start big so just hogging them out won't help. Input welcome.Ported LS3 10 degree heads

I haven't measured it but I was told it is a 10 degree design. Aftermarket casting.

Sounds like Frankenstein Ls castings there Ls heads are 10 degrees only one I know of that has that valve angle. That's on all Ls heads cathedrals, Ls3 and Ls7 also. Chris did my factory Ls3 heads stage 1 port.

I was told it is a China casting but it seems to be pretty well done. Nice machining, no porosity that I can see, cuts nice and the guides seem to be hard when the burr nicks them ( for whatever that may be worth). I am not thrilled with the fin in the bowl but I will work on that. You know me... I'm a Die hard Ford man...but those LS3 heads rock! Good work! I'm sure you will pick up even more as you go... It's completely different starting out with a head that is "big" to start with!

Thanks, Andy. I am seeing some China quality in guide and seat placement. Not terrible but not fantastic either. Needed to load the honall with 8mm stuff to get em a bit straighter. My first venture into 50 degree seats.

First venture into 50 degree seats. 40,50,60 blend on both seats. Very short top cut. Damn, like an idiot I forgot to face the valves! Ok, I will reface and retest. Still interesting to see with a 50 seat and 45 valves there is a slowdown on intake ssr and a pickup on high lift flows.

can you disclose min and avg CSA so i can paint a picture,i know nothing about LS1-LS3 etc i am still in the stone age GEN 1 so i am curious.
i see the exhaust velocities are erratic and i am assuming you are testing without a pipe?
i test with a modified pipe and readings are way more stable,i guess the air does not know which way to turn.

These are being developed for some bigger inch higher rpm applications. No measuring of anything so far. Exhaust airspeed is Pitot gauge at exhaust flange. Maybe I need to explain my exhaust airspeed layout. First airspeed in top left corner is from top left corner of port flange, etc. They are usually done about max actual lift I think the head will be used at. Thanks, Charlie

Why you even consider exhaust flow is beyond me. Unless you have a kink in the bend there is no way to see the actual flow.

APPLICATION,RPM,MIN CSA,AVG CSA,COMPRESSION,THROAT % etc etc
what changes to the combustion chamber (if any) to compliment the 50deg seat for pressure recovery etc etc.
please dont be upset with me Charlie as i want to learn as much as the next person and if you can not disclose any information that is fine as well,just need to say so but with out some relativity you leave yourself open to speculation.
