I owned at the same time a 79 impala with a stock 350 and a 91 Caprice classic with a 305. The Impala drove nice, but it had no power and got 14 mpg freeway. The caprice would run circles around it and got 19 mpg. The Caprice is long gone, and the Impala is still here with a warmed up 98 Vortec engine. And yes it has instantaneous throttle response.

Unhappy day yesterday, I got rear-ended on I5 coming home from the Albany swap meet, totaled the car. I had 1,500 miles on it. An entire summers work shot to hell in a few seconds. Traffic stopped , and while we sat there some young kid in a Civic hit us. His bell got rung pretty hard.

Hate to say it, but especially in this situation, get a good "junkyard dog" lawyer especially with Geico! Have him request a cell phone time of use on the kids cell phone and compare that to the Honda's computer impact time.

So sorry, you list your "Baby"! How are you doing? Hope you will be OK physically. Take care!

Mark, I notice your above note was just 3 min. after the previous 'eye roll' one. I think that's soon enough that the delete X would still have been present at the top right corner, which would allow you to remove the post entirely if you wished, instead of having to explain it.

For future reference I'm going to time how long it stays in this note.
(Still there after 10 min. Ending test, off to bed now..)

Now those have f** kin throttle response! Sorry but I refuse to get in my rocking chair just yet!
A customer of mine has a 604" Caprice. Street manners with smallish camshaft with port fuel injection and I would pit the throttle response of that vehicle against ANYTHING coming off the assembly line today.

At what speed do the tires stop spinning and actually connect to the road? I suspect he can never actually safely get the throttle plate or plates completely open on a public highway.
My replacement El Camino has a 305.
