2 1050 dominator carbs on sbc 406
Hi
what your thougt about 2 1050 dominator carbs hoogan sheetmetal intake on a 18 degree 406 sbc
with 6600 stall converter going true traps at 8200 rpm 1/8
powerglide 1.76
rear 9 inch with 5.67 gear
tyres 32*14*15
2465 lbs car
camshaft from mike jones ( 283 in 289 exh 112 lobe sep @ 0.50 dur )

If you have the Carbs already nothing's stopping you from trying it , but you had to go out and by another one I don't think you will see much of a power gain until you get too close to your peak rpm.

You have not given us the throttle plate sizes or CFM rating of these dominators but I would suspect that the total CFM capability of this setup is in excess of 2800cfm and even though you have your engine to pull up to 8500rpms or so with a 6600 stall and such I feel that in a 1/8" mile use you willl be loosing torque and power in the 500 feet of that run and that means time loss where the car could be setup to pull harder. Have you done any calcs. to se what cfm may be recommended for your build?

Early mid 350 inch Pro Stock engines utilized them fine and they were not near as good as today's engines.

The Boss 302 Trans Am cars used twin 1050 dominators in 69 until they were outlawed.

you can not say that 2 carburaters on a sheetmetal intake makes the dubble cfm
engine want 1230 cfm to 1420 cfm according to wallace calculator
with 0.5 the carburators would be abut 1300 cfm with my parts
my old carbs was 850 cfm carbs they where 990 cfm on the dyno together on sheetmetal intake

I believe Dan Davinci did a lot of the Pro Stock Truck stuff back when that class was going. Here's on I just finished, waiting on headers before I can dyno.
