Can you show us a pic of your fabbed up one?
I retired 2 years ago due to medical issues and the only thing around the house that I have is a single feed Holley spreadbore fed with #6 braided flex hose. It has some hardline from the fuel pump going towards the front. Just don't make long straight lines with no bends, don't expect the line to support the weight of regulators or filters and don't over tighten the B nuts. If it doesn't seal with a good snugging up something is wrong with your flare or fitting.
