Performance application for a EPS intake

Post by tcb3274 »

Is there a performance application for a SBC EPS intake? It has a square bore like a RPM and not a spread bore like the performer.

If so, at what point would you need to bump up to a RPM intake or a RPM Air Gap intake?

Eps is great up to when you really should be using a single plane but are scared that the open plenum gods will rob you of 500lb tq at 1500 rpm and make your car undriveable!

They both have their rated rpm of use.

The big magazine intake comparison wasn't a huge diff between the two but if you have the room to let the carb breather proper a taller intake would always be my choice. That said, if you don't have the hood clearance it could be possibly be the same with either or worse case maybe more HP with the shorter.

If you already have the EPS, try adding a 1 or 2” open Spacer to see if you need more plenum volume.

I have a 1" spacer on it so that regulator can clear the intake.
