Re: How much lift for these flow numbers
I'd go for around .600 on the intake and .550 on the exhaust. Duration around 240-250 @ .050. I like cams on the conservative side.

Did Eric port these heads for you??
If so probably best to ask for his recommendation on a cam for your combination,
If not then you would be best to give all the details of engine, trans, converter, rear gear etc etc
Can't pick a cam by flow numbers alone

These flow numbers look like the first step to a potent build.tcb3274 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:03 pm Here are the flow numbers for a set of Trick Flow 195 heads that have been ported by Eric Weingartner. How much lift should I be looking for in a camshaft?

Give me the head port volume and the engines CID, CR RR, rod length, peak power rpm required, Vacuum required what type of cam you want (flat -solid -hyd -roller) And I will run some numbers for you cam wise that will make the most of what will probably be a set of great heads. Also give you the power and torque output to within +/- 3%.

Re: How much lift for these flow numbers
The 240 to 250 @ .050 duration was more on the hot side. For a street cruiser I'd try and get the same lift numbers but with 220 to 230 duration @ .050. Maybe even less if you want more street manners. Most people error on the side of too big of a cam. You can make good power with a small cam and a nice set of heads.

I would first want to know what a pleasing hp goal would be for you and how many street miles are we talking per year?

I will place a call into him.
Details of the engine. 383, rpm intake, Holley 3310, 1 3/4" headers, 4 speed, 4:10 gear

Im not sure I understand what head port volume is.
The engine is a 383, 10 to 1, 5.7 rod, peak power somewhere in the 6000 to 6500 rpm band, no requirements on vacuum, hyd. roller. We shot for anywhere between 450 horsepower and 500 horsepower.
Re: How much lift for these flow numbers
I feel those numbers are about right too. Looking to make great power with a lesser cam.JoePorting wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 1:24 amThe 240 to 250 @ .050 duration was more on the hot side. Re: How much lift for these flow numbers
I had a 67 Camaro with a similar setup. My favorite upgrade was going to a TKO-500 5 speed with an overdrive fifth gear. Made 70 mph at around 2500 rpm's.tcb3274 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 8:28 amSteve, yes he did port them for me.steve cowan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 10:20 pm Did Eric port these heads for you??

Re: How much lift for these flow numbers
