Guys, I'm assembling a set of 4.6L DOHC cylinder heads for a customer and I must be missing something on the setup.
Heads have the factory valves and camshafts are custom Comp pieces, with .475" lobe/valve lift.
Valve springs are Comp 26123 and retainers are Comp 799. Using Trick Flow 32V valve locks.
Valve seals are Sealed Power ST2140.
Issue is that I only have .430" clearance at the most between the bottom of the retainer and the valve seal.
Valve spring install height is 1.500" without the seal/spring seat and 1.470" with the seal/spring seat....so spring install height is pretty much where it needs to be.
Is there a lower profile valve seal for higher lift camshafts, or do I have a mismatched part? From what I understand, all of these items should be "drop in" without cylinder head modification.

Re: Ford 4.6L 32V valve seal question....
I’m getting conflicting data on whether or not the Sealed Power seal will work on 4V heads. Can anyone verify?

Re: Ford 4.6L 32V valve seal question....
I ordered another set of seals, I think I have wrong seals. The 2V install height is much taller than the 4V.

SBI list 122-1419 for the 4V (except 1993-94 Mark VIII for which there isn’t a listing)
122-1449 for the 2V
122-1449 for the 2V

I believe you have a 2v seal.... The 4v seals are shorter...
