Depends which manifold. You could do a fully ported Victor Jr. and it would make less power than an otb Super Victor 2. A dominator on a good manifold will be up compared to a unported and 850 combo, but again, depends which manifold.

Eg *
Wow I didn't know that...

If your short times are less than stellar a large carb and intake could make it worse. You could have better results working on your clutch.

Even at my rpm range? or is it a higher rpm thing?
Yes many stock intakes leave a lot on the table. If you were below 5500rpm it would gain next to nothing.

More hp technically should always win if gear and converter are optimized for it. But if they are NOT optimized...... then overall average power would likely win.

Fully ported by a average guy at home and the same done by a shop that does such as a specialties will show a 10 hp spread!

Just looking for thoughts...
Whats the car run now?

What is your vacuum reading at the end of the quarter? During the run? If you are above 1.0" of vacuum, you may benefit from the Dominator. I have found that a well prepared plenum will increase the airflow by 30 cfm in many intakes, without touching the runners' exits. Need to prepare the air and fuel to turn into the runners, and do so without slowing it down or turbulence.
