Emulsion system and the 4160 metering plate

Post by 427dart » Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:02 am

We all know about the trick metering blocks with multiple emulsion bleeds but just how does this work with the basic secondary metering
plate or aftermarket jet plate found on 4160 type carbs?
No holes other than the channels with the air bleed at carb air horn.

It doesn't. Those metering plates are known for horrible fuel conditioning and fuel metering. I use them only when absolutely necessary.

Yeah...I have to use them for carb clearance issues but they must work OK in the Secondaries as lots of factory Super/Stock cars have to use them.
Have wondered how well it worked.
