The 62 300 hp had the "461" 1.94" int and 1.50" exh. valve heads and a carter AFB 4 bbl. 66-67 nova/chevy II engine blocks were all alone because of oil filter deepened location due to location for stick shift pivot ball for cross shaft location. Grumpy also said these blocks had a higher percentage of nickel also. I will add more later if needed.
I have that 327 AFB intake manifold in my garage and to me it was the best intake up until the Q-Jet came out and Z-28 intake.

Now BTTT, remember that some ratings were with single exhaust vs full duals...

PackardV8 wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:15 pmBonus question - how many horsepower ratings were there for the 327"? I recollect the 210, 235, 250, 275, 300, 340, 350, 360, 365, 375; what else can you remember?
Don't forget the '67 327-325 L79 (Chevelles only) and the '68 327-325 L79. The '67 had the same alum. intake and 585 Holley that the '66 327-350 L79 did but was rated 25 hp less. The '68 327-325 L79 (Chevelle and Chevy II only) had a cast iron intake and QJet.
And if I would have known all this, I would have bought a new '67 Chevy II with a 325 Hp/327 4-speed posi- optioned just like my '67 Camaro 350SS/RS.

The SOB's were down right scary under full power! What were they? 2,900 to 3,000 pounds??

The '67 L79's (327-325) were Chevelle only....no Nova, Camaro or full size passenger car option.

The same engine was offered in the '67 Corvette, rated @ 350 hp.
