lunati cam question

i have a lunati cam in my 383 sbc race engine i it is grind RRA 283 284 672 intake lift 646 exhaust lift part number 50138 could someone tell me the suggested RPM operating range of this cam. the engine is capable of going to 8,000 rpms as it has thr afr 220 cfm heads that were worked and aprox 14,5 comp. and a holley 300-25 intake and a 950 holley. thanks for info art

I would expect the cams suggested RPM range to be past 8000. Maybe 5000-8500. All the specs you need would be availible on lunati’s website. Where it actually makes the power is subject to the whole combination (of course)

I don't know for sure but, Lunati says 4,600 to 8,400 in a high compression, 350 Super Stock type engine.
They also say slightly different - 317/322 @.020" - 283/288 @.050" - .680"/..646" theoretical valve lift; it would not be the first time something measured differently than published

14.5:1 is quite a feat for a 383, have those heads been angle milled a bunch?

spec sheet i got with engine stated it to have aprox' 14.7-1 compression ratio. thanks for the info on the rpm range. i will take it up to 8,000 rpms when i go out with the car next week. thanks again art in NY

If it is like mine it will be happy shifting at 8500. Don't even go with the recommendation they are for the average joe that has no clue.
And if they tell you you need 180# don't!! Put 250#/650# in it and live long!!!
