racing a 2.3 ford ,any info on bypassing the 2.3 hydraulic lifter rule,i heard guys collaping the lifters and running shims to simulate solid lifters thanks HAD

You can preload the lifters almost all the way to the bottom(.010ish) but you need to run good valvepsrings cause if they float the lifter can pump up and piston meets valve.

Or you can shim/spacer(short/limit travel the lifter) how ever much you want but since racing prob .010-.015 of travel and then zero lash hot I think.


I just did a set of shims for a project but I choose to limit them to .050 cause I'm lazy and want it to be easy to set the prelaod. Many threads on the subject GL
