I have a 525 crate engine that has ran for about 6 races in a Super Late-Model and has been an Awesome Motor.
Last week while renting the track after the first hour of 15 lap sprints working on a 3/8 mile asphalt track working on apex center turning of the chassis, the car went out in the second hour and about 12 laps in the run just shut off and then would start and run again while coasting on the track and go three laps and repeat everything again.
Went back to the shop and replaced, Fuel Filter (Peterson) which looked brand new, replaced the Electrical fuel Pump Part Number # E84070N NAPA, Replaced Main On/Off switch, replace Ignition switch, replaced fuel switch, went to the track Race day as the car would always run and idle on its own in the shop but at the track under load 13 laps in it did the same thing again.
We then replaced the ignition box and again after 13 laps it repeated itself, Has any one ever experienced any thing like this?
Could the alternator be failing in the SLM and shorting out the electrical circuity and shutting down the engine after it gets Hot?
Any Ideas from the Home of Racing's Best and Brightest Speed Talk Forum Minds.

Re: 525 Crate Engine
Has there been any changes to the frame or fuel cell ? If you had a crash and had to repair the frame / clip the pickup could be moved in the fuel cell as a result of the sudden stop. Also check the vent.
Re: 525 Crate Engine
No
There has been no damage of any kind and nothing has been done to the Fuel cell area except
New fuel pump replaced and Fuel filter changed out.

Change the crank sensor. 2010-2014 Camaro 6.2L will work. Also check the wiring to it.
Heat is energy, energy is horsepower...but you gotta control the heat.

Re: 525 Crate Engine
had the exact same thing on a ct525 in a race boa. At 26 min in it would just shut off. Had no spark for approx 1-2 min then fire up and run for another 26 min. Ours was the ign box or harness. We changed both and it was fixed.
